ASPE – Digital workbench for competence-oriented examination tasks and final examinations – assessments for current and future requirements in the dual system

The project is developing an online tool with which the examiniers can create competency-based exam tasks and final exams for commercial professions.

The challenge facing task setting for commercial training occupations is to develop high-quality competence-oriented assignments whilst also taking due account of the needs and limited time resources of (volunteer) examiners.

The ASPE project is meeting this challenge by developing an online-based digital workbench. This supports (volunteer) examination task setters in the standardised creation and selection of assignments and in the compilation of examination task sets for the training occupations of industrial clerk and freight forwarding and logistics services clerk. This project links in with prior work carried out within the scope of the ASCOT project CoBALIT.

The aim of the digital workbench is to assist examination assignment setters by providing a step-by-step routine that facilitates the development of competence-oriented tasks and the subsequent transfer of these to the overall examination. The workbench contains a pool of reference tasks to serve as guidance for the creation and evaluation of new assignments. The tool further offers a knowledge database and learning units for the continuing training of examination preparation staff.
